Moose Steak
Next week is hunting season, which means that I have to clear out our freezer this week since we are getting a half moose next week;-)
Here is a simple recipe that I usally make with the moose
1kg of moose loin (I think you call it?)
8 carrots
2 onions
1 leek
salt,pepper
8dl of beef broth
8-10 Juniper Berries crushed
Fry the moose in a cast iron pan then add the vegetable, spices & the broth and let it simmer for around 3 hours.Serve it with boiled potatoes & a redcurrant jelly...
Everyone Should have a Coffee Maker like this!!!
So two weeks ago we went to visit a friend in Norway & when we got up in the morning she served us coffee from this Nespresso machine & I have to say that I fell in love with it straight away;-))So one week later the same machine was standing on our kitchen counter! My parents came home to us on the weekend and of course we had to brag about the Nespresso machine we got & one day later they had on to;-))If you don't have it,,Buy IT!!!
The Nespresso Citiz D110The Cinnamon Bun Day...
Yes we do have a day called that lol!The 4th of October everybody eather make them or buy them at the bakery...And of course I had to make some..
this recipe makes around 20..
25g yeast
3dl of milk
75g butter
100 g sugar
a pinch of salt
8dl flour
1 tbs ground cardemom
Filling:
50 g butter
1dl sugar
2tbs cinnamon
raisins
Glaze:
1 egg
Pearl sugar or 0,5dl granulated sugar
Crumble the yeast in a bowl and stir in a few tablespoons of milk. Melt the butter and pour the milk on heat up so its fingerwarm. Add the rest of the ingredients and knead the dough in a dough mixer for 10–15 minutes. Let the dough rise while covered at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Roll out the dough so it is about 3 mm (1/8 in) thick and 30 cm (12 in) wide. Spread the room-temperature butter on top. Make a mixture of sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle it over the dough,I like to add raisins also;-) Roll the dough the long way and cut the roll into about 25 slices. Place them with the cut edge upward in paper molds. Place on a baking sheet and let rise under a towel for about 60 minutes or until the buns have doubled in size.
Beat the egg, brush it carefully on the buns and sprinkle pearl sugar on top. Bake in the oven (220oC/425oF) for 5–6 minutes.Let it Cool on a rack.
